When a survivor finds healing, everything changes. Our local partners in Nepal and Cambodia are dedicated to walking alongside survivors as they heal from trauma and build healthy, independent futures. We don’t put a timeline on healing. Instead, every individual is empowered through safe housing, education and aftercare on their own unique journey to recovery.
Children receive a roof over their heads, a bed to call their own and warm meals—but much more than all this, they become part of a loving family. Compassionate staff lead our safe homes with empathy and understanding, providing a listening ear to help children express their pain. Each child is given an older sibling to look up to and a younger sibling who looks up to them, fostering relational trust and responsibility.
Many children weren’t given the opportunity to go to school, and having to start school as a teenager can be damaging to their self esteem. Safe schools with trauma-informed teachers provide a safe and dignifying learning environment, and specialized classes allow students to learn at their own pace.
Each child is provided with access to trauma-informed counseling and medical services. Safe home leaders work in unison with a dedicated team to monitor the emotional, physical and psychological health of every child, and ensure they receive the individualized support they need.

As survivors work through their past trauma and begin to heal, hope arises, igniting dreams of future achievements such as graduating from university, pursuing careers and starting families. Our local partners play a pivotal role in encouraging these dreams and connecting young adults with the necessary opportunities to build independent lives.
Our local partners offer diverse vocational training programs, including sewing, music, hairdressing, mechanics, and more, empowering students to gain practical skills and independence. Additionally, we provide tuition scholarships for those aspiring to pursue higher education at the university level, helping them turn their dreams into reality.
Our transitional housing support plays a crucial role in helping survivors achieve independent living and rebuild their lives after trauma. By offering subsidized housing, individuals are provided with a safe and stable environment to regain autonomy and heal. This empowering setting allows them to focus on personal growth, acquire life skills, and form supportive connections with 2–3 other young adults facing similar challenges.
After survivors have reintegrated, our local partners remain committed to nurturing these relationships. It doesn’t matter how many years have passed, graduates are always welcome at the safe home to enjoy holidays, celebrations or simply for an evening meal. This lasting connection ensures that they continue to feel supported and part of a caring community, empowering them to thrive in their newfound lives.

Though trafficking can look different in different countries, one thing remains the same: traffickers always prey on vulnerability. The more children, parents, teachers and the wider community understand how trafficking happens, the better chance we have of stopping it.
Our local partners facilitate prevention programs in communities where there is a higher risk of exploitation. With the support of local leadership, our prevention team shares anti-trafficking presentations to educate children, parents, teachers and the wider community about the dangers of human trafficking.
Traffickers tend to target children from rural communities by promising them education or work opportunities in the city. One of the best ways to prevent trafficking is to make sure children have access to education. Our team provides children in vulnerable communities with the uniforms, textbooks, supplies and tuition to attend public rural schools.
In impoverished villages, parents who are desperate to take care of their children will look for any solution to put food on the table. Families are given a promise of work and income, but children are then deceived into trafficking. To help them retain their freedom, our local partners run prevention outreach to these at-risk communities, providing families with nourishing meals and relief packages.
