The young boy had been raised in a broken home and had not seen his mother in many years. Following his father’s arrest, the boy asked for his mother to be found. Our local partner was asked to provide temporary safe housing for the child while they searched for his mother. They were more than willing to welcome the child to safety.
A few weeks later, the boy’s mother was found, and the two were reunited. She was unaware of the abuse and devastated to hear what her son had suffered. Today, our local partner is continuing to maintain a relationship with the boy and his mother, providing care and support when needed.
At Ally, we work to prevent human trafficking and help survivors find healing through safe housing, education and aftercare. When survivors are supported through long-term care, they can build healthy, independent futures.

Though trafficking can look different in different countries, one thing remains the same: traffickers always prey on vulnerability.
The more children, youth and parents understand how trafficking takes place, the better chance we have of stopping trafficking before it even happens.
