Through the efforts of various agencies (including the FBI and the Cambodian government), a 10-year-old boy was identified as the victim of ongoing online sexual exploitation. Heartbreakingly, the boy’s father was the perpetrator of the abuse.

The young boy had been raised in a broken home and had not seen his mother in many years. Following his father’s arrest, the boy asked for his mother to be found. Our local partner was asked to provide temporary safe housing for the child while they searched for his mother. They were more than willing to welcome the child to safety.

A few weeks later, the boy’s mother was found, and the two were reunited. She was unaware of the abuse and devastated to hear what her son had suffered. Today, our local partner is continuing to maintain a relationship with the boy and his mother, providing care and support when needed.

At Ally, we work to prevent human trafficking and help survivors find healing through safe housing, education and aftercare. When survivors are supported through long-term care, they can build healthy, independent futures.
